Gugulethu Light Jacket
The Gugulethu light jacket is produced using a combination of lightweight Windtex and soft breathable fabrics. Windtex® is a light stretch heat regulating membrane which blocks wind and water. We've designed our thermal jacket to be fitted minimising excessive bulk whilst maintaining breathability. The rear panel features a soft textured fabric that helps regulate body heat and moisture-wicking. This jacket is ideal for those fresh frosty mornings.
The name Gugulethu means 'Our Pride' in Xhosa. The design was inspired by the township just outside of Cape Town. A sea of tin-roofed shacks covers the area of Gugulethu. Despite its poverty, there's still a vibrant culture that echoes from this historical township which has the iconic Cape mountain range as the backdrop.
The Tribal collection was inspired by the Zulu arts and culture. We wanted to embrace the rich Zulu culture that comes from this South African tribe, using colours and shapes to distinguish different meanings. The African culture is all about vibrant, bold colours, paying homage to the land, seas and sun.
